Channeling Your Warrior Within

Channeling Your Warrior Within

Warrior – A person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage or aggressiveness.

To succeed in the weight room, you must have patience and the ability to maintain a mental focus.  Building muscle and breaking PR’s is not easy and to see success takes perseverance.

To persevere, you must commit yourself to the barbell.  It’s only when you commit yourself that you begin to get results.  This relates not only to lifting but in life as well.  Think about it in these two scenarios.

Change Your Mindset

You have “Guy A” and “Guy B.”

Guy A has a don’t-care attitude and carries indecisiveness with him wherever he goes.  You ask him questions and you receive responses like, “I don’t care.” or “I don’t know.”

He wanders aimlessly in life.  Without clear direction, Guy A goes nowhere.  A lack of commitment in the weight room is a reflection of his personal and business life.  Gut wrenching.

Guy A has a problem.  What is it that he is truly going to accomplish?  Nothing.  He will accomplish nothing because his mental state cares about nothing due to his lack of focus.

Now take Guy B.  This guy has passion and a clear sense of what he is trying to achieve.  He might run into obstacles, but he doesn’t let that slow him down.  He chooses to run right through them.

Guy B has plans and knows exactly what he wants.  His focus in the weight room transcends into his personal life and in his business.  Successful, happy and confident, he attacks life with purpose.

So, what’s the difference between these two guys?  It’s mindset.  A Warrior’s Mindset!

That’s the difference between being strong and being weak.  Your mindset will make or break you.

Warrior Quote

Find Your Inner Warrior

A Warrior doesn’t wait his turn.  He knows exactly what he wants and is 100% focused on the thing he is set out to do. There is no, “I don’t know.” and “I don’t care” attitude coming from a Warrior.

Whether it’s in the weight room or not, a Warrior is intent on getting what he deserves.

You see, a Warrior is inside all of us.  Whether you can see him right now or not, he is there waiting for you to let him out, if you will let him.

What is holding you back right now?  Now is the time to truly think about what you want and what you deserve and figure out the game plan to get you there.

Don’t accept no for an answer.  If you can’t see a way to make what you want happen, keep looking.

If you’re not as strong as you want to be, come up with a plan to get you there.  Get a coach or find a solid training program that will challenge you.  There are many I have reviewed on this site.

If it’s business that is failing you, do your research.  Read books on what interest you and set small tasks to get you moving forward.   Hate your job?  Find something else.  Start your own business.  Challenge yourself.  Do not fear failure.

The worst thing we can do as individuals is nothing.  Don’t do nothing.  Figure out what you want in life and go get it.  It’s yours for the taking.

Your Next Step

Next time you find yourself lost and down on yourself, don’t sit and whine about it.  Do yourself a favor.  Turn off the TV, sit down with a pen and a notepad and make 2 columns on a piece of paper.

On one side of the paper write down all the crap that you’re beating yourself up over.  It can be one thing, it can be 10 things.  Who cares?

In the column to the right, write as many things as you can think of that would make the situation better.  This is where you will find a solution.  Don’t try and be perfect.  All your answers don’t have to make sense.

The point is to get you thinking that there is a way out of your rut.  Once you feel you have enough solutions in place take out another sheet of paper.

On this piece of paper you are going to write down 3-5 small tasks that will help you move toward creating a solution for whatever it is holding you back and keeping you down.

The point of this exercise is to get you to take action.  By taking action, by doing something positive, you will begin to release your Inner-Warrior.

Once you’ve started completing some of your small tasks, let the momentum take over and come up with 3-5 more tasks to keep you moving forward.  Positive action will lead to a positive mindset which will then lead to confidence and your Warrior instincts will begin to guide you.

However, if you do nothing and continue to sulk in front of the television with your pint of ice cream, you’re doomed to fail.  You’ll be spinning in a whirlwind of laziness and defeat.

Take action today and channel the Warrior within you.  Figure out your goals in life and begin coming up with small tasks to help you succeed.  The tasks to achieve your goals can be as small as you want them to be.  Just remember that the whole point is to get you to take action.

Until next time, Stay Jacked, Stay Strong…
